Chariatable OPD is conducted every Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. The District Blindness Control Society has designated certain rural areas like Bhor, Velha & Haveli to NIO. The Govt. Primary Health Centres, in coordination with NIO select cataract cases which are brought to the hospital for free cataract surgery Food, tea, snacks and goggles are also provided free to the patients.

Apart from these activities NIO also annually conducts Annual Senior Citizens free eye check up Screening and Fundus examination for diabetic patients.
