Experience at NIO: It has been an amazing journey of my Vitreo-retina fellowship at NIO during the year 2017-18. It was a privilege to get trained under Dr. Aditya Kelkar who guided so well both academically and surgically in the field of retina. Also the ongoing research opportunities at the institute have been very encouraging. After the fellowship i joined as a consultant eye surgeon, and it has been an overwhelming experience. I sincerely admire the ethics, patient care approaches, protocols, state of the art equipments and the cordial work atmosphere amongst all colleagues at the institute.

Experience at NIO: I was a resident at KEM HOSPITAL and SBK sir was the HOD. I will never forget Consent Writing and Guarded Prognosis Writing taught by him. There were no retina, cornea work at that time. I asked sir if I could come to NIO to watch these cases and he immediately gave me permission to do so. As a teacher, I always found Sir helping us to any extent, be it with patients, books, surgery, presentation, exam preparation or even setting in practice. When I started multispeciality hospital, I had problem with Hospital registration at PMC, he helped in the same. No doubt he is a legend in ophthalmology but he is a very good person too. Same culture and vision is been carried successfully by Dr. Aditya and Dr. Jai. I will always have respect for you all.

I have been a part of the system for long and can say that good governance never depends on rules and regulations and accreditions that an institute has but it depends on the spirit in which they are implemented by the management of the institute.
